Dress up a lady from China's Tang Dynasty, in flowing, patterned silks, eye-catching makeup, elaborate hairstyles, and gold accessories a-plenty. The Tang Dynasty was noted for the freedom and status offered to women (including Wu Zetian, China's only female emperor), and also for the flourishing of trade, bringing new fashions and trends from the Silk Road and beyond.
I'd love to see what you make, either here or on the Meiker discord. You can see more of my art (and various historical ramblings) at 247reader.tumblr.com or SiamesaArt at Instagram.
With thanks to the resources at Wikimedia commons and, particularly, Nüwa Hanfu's history section... and to the painters at Mokao Cave and the surrounding grottoes, whose paintings of donors let us see what they were wearing a thousand years on.
