- Thank you for reading the meiker.io rules
- These rules are in place to protect both you and me and prevent any legal issues
- These are just website rules and should NOT be considered legal advice
- Unfortunately, we can't (publicly) publish games with nudity
- Meiker is open to creators all around the world and cultural customs vary, so content becomes a fine balance
- Please provide underwear on the bottoms of all humanoid dolls, and on the tops of dolls that visually register as female
- Please be mindful of how the body appears in the menu, too, because that counts as well. If it's not possible to paste underwear on the doll in a permanent manner, check out my tutorial on a neat trick for creating custom skin tone buttons
- The ability to purchase your own private game version is coming soon!
- If a furry/anthropomorphic character has a humanoid torso shape, it must be dressed as per humanoid rules.
If a game is revealing or sexy, the character must clearly visually register as an adult. Titles and descriptions do not override the visual impact and borderline cases will be treated as minors.
- Names of movies, books, video games, tv shows etc. are copyrighted and therefore the game can NOT use them in the title
- It is okay to say in the description that the dress up was "inspired by" a franchise, and it's okay to put the franchise name in the tag field
- It's obvious that "Steven Universe" is copyrighted because it's a franchise name. But did you know that side characters are copyrighted as well?
- Meiker games cannot have titles using any full character names, so not only is "Harry Potter" off the table, but so is "Ronald Weasley."
- The character's likeness is copyrighted as well so please choose a thumbnail that isn't identical to an existing character.
- I once got into an argument with a moderator saying, "Well, this game can be used to make an infinite number of characters! Not just Sailor Moon!" to which he replied, "Okay, so just.. use it to make a thumbnail to make something other than Sailor Moon." Wise words!
- The "right of publicity" states that only an individual can profit off of their own likeness and celebrity.
- This means that games cannot be explicitly named after celebrities.
- Thumbnails cannot bare an overwhelming resemblance to a celebrity.
- Remember how StarDoll used to be full of "Dress Up So & So" games? Notice how they are no longer? =D
- No copy/pasting the artwork of others
- No tracing the artwork of others
- Using a reference for drawing, images out of copyright, and images you have permission to use are okay (please forward proof of permission to [email protected] prior to submitting your game)
- Games must include some interactivity, such as multiple working buttons.
- Games must demonstrate artistic input and effort and must go beyond a few pasted images or AI generated images.
- No explicit language, such as the George Carlin seven, racial slurs, or their equivalents in other languages.
- It is not possible to copyright an artistic style: Disney, anime, cal-arts, all up for grabs!
- It is not possible to copyright a race: wookies, villagers, cardassians, all okay!
- It is not possible to copyright just a first name alone.. Archie, Harry, Barack.. all okay.
- It is absolutely okay to allude to a franchise with a ridiculously cheesy and obvious alternate name (think off-brand Halloween costume names), like "Biscuit Beast" for "Cookie Monster".
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Ola at [email protected]
- Do not use stamps to add game nudity or pose characters in suggestive ways.
- Do not post stories or paragraphs describing sexual acts.
- No explicit language, such as the George Carlin seven, racial slurs, or their equivalents in other languages.
- Do not use stamps to spell out curse words.
- Meiker is a recreational site and is not equipped to help with serious mental health issues. Please seek out the guidance of a professional. Subtle depictions of past scars may be considered in the context of positive healing discussion or obvious horror intent, but must come with a content warning. Meiker reserves the right of discretion.
- Please, only critique others' work if they have specifically asked for feedback or ways to improve.
- Anyone making comments that are fuelled by an obviously negative intent are subject to removal.
