Dress up a noblewoman, dancer, or commoner from Japan's Heian Era (794 AD - 1185 AD). During this period, fashion took on a uniquely Japanese look, and literary culture flourished at court - this is the era in which Murasaki Shikibu wrote her famous novel, the Tale of Genji.
Dress your beauty in an elaborate jūnihitoe, an ancestor of the modern kimono, which would have been worn at court on formal occasions. Select from the era's seasonal color patterns, or completely customize your own with colors and decor. Or, choose from a variety of less formal attire, ranging from dancing costumes to flowing robes to practical tunics and pants. Accessorize with fans, hairpieces, cats, and more!
