Dress opera singer Jenny Lind in costumes from her various roles!

Jenny Lind was an opera singer and one of the biggest stars of her era, often billed as "the Swedish Nightingale". She was also a philanthropist, donating the profits of her wildly successful concert tour of the United States to schools for poor children in her native Sweden. Unfortunately, today she is best known from her very innacurate and unfair depiction as a manipulative diva in the film "The Greatest Showman."

This is by far the oldest set of paper dolls I've ever worked with, likely dating to around 1850, when Lind's tour of the United States commenced. Based on this set featuring both German and English text, I believe it was most likely made in Germany or Austria (the two countries where Lind performed most of her opera roles), likely for sale both locally and in the US.

This set comes courtesy of archive.org. They were originally photographed, not scanned, so there are some inconsistencies in color and scaling, which I did my best to account for. I also cleaned up the worst of the scuffing and scratches.
