Court Belle

Game by siamesa

Dress up an elegant lady in clothes inspired by the English Restoration era court (1660-1685) - and, in particular, by the Windsor Beauties, a series of paintings by Sir Peter Lely depicting the belles of Charles II's court. Curly hair, dramatic sleeves, and pearls upon pearls were the order of the day, and Lely enjoyed setting his subjects with a dramatic wilderness in the background.

Three backgrounds are details of public domain paintings, courtesy Wikimedia commons: "Charles II at Court," by Henri Gascar c.1660s, "Nymphs by a Fountain," Sir Peter Lely, mid-1600s, and "Two Ladies from the Lake Family," Sir Peter Lely, mid-1600s. Brush credits are as always to MoFox and FireAlpaca.
